AgentScape Operating System: Kernel and System Services

As of 2010, a new version of AgentScape is being developed to provide an even more stable and more flexible AgentScape.
This version is aptly named AgentScape 2. Users are encouraged to download the new AgentScape version and experiment with it. Even though the final version has not been released yet, the build is quite stable and usable. The latest build is Milestone 3, which can be downloaded from here.

As of Dec 18, 2009 the latest version of the original AgentScape is version 0.9.3. Older versions are available, but are not supported anymore. Please use version 0.9.3.

NOTE: the 0.9.x versions will not be developed further, only urgent bug-fixes will be released for the 0.9.x releases.

New release AgentScape 2 Milestone 3 (April 29, 2011)

A new release of AgentScape has just been released: Agentscape 2 Milestone 3 (r5088).
You can download this release from the sidebar or from the downloads page.

This 'Milestone 3' version includes bug fixes & updates to the core middleware, as well as a number of new & improved features such as Web Service Gateway, a new configuration mechanism, and initial support for security mechanisms. For more information about the updates, see http://www.agentscape.org/development.

This release is not compatible with AgentScape 0.9.x.

  • Web-Service Gateway
  • Distributed Naming and Directory service
  • Security Architecture
  • XML-based AgentScape configuration mechanism

A new release of AgentScape has just been released: Agentscape 2 Milestone 2 (r4578).

This 'Milestone 2' version includes bug fixes & updates to the core middleware, as well as a number of new & improved features such as a blackboard service, a directory service, and an updated servlet service. For more information about the updates, see http://www.agentscape.org/development.

This release is not compatible with AgentScape 0.9.x.

New release AgentScape 2 Milestone 1 (April 19, 2010)

A new release of AgentScape has just been released: Agentscape 2 Milestone 1 (r4054).

This release is not compatible with AgentScape 0.9.x and is not recommended for
regular use. AgentScape 2 is going to be a complete rewrite of AgentScape. This first
milestone has focused on the core of AgentScape. A summary of some of the main
changes are:

  • Split core-AgentScape functionality from extensions
  • New Service Architecture
  • Changes to the API
  • New build-environment: Maven based instead of ant
  • New AgentScape website and documentation

AgentScape Tutorial (November 18, 2008)

An AgentScape tutorial has been given at the University of Bath (UK). Slides can be found here and here.

AAMAS-2007 demo / BNAIC-2007 demo

A demonstration of AgentScape has been given at the AAMAS-2007 conference and the BNAIC-2007 conference. The demonstration presented a resource negotiation framework based on WS-Agreements, implemented in AgentScape. A modified distribution of AgentScape has been developed for this demonstration.
